Michale Paul Smith

	Michael Paul 'Mike' Smith, age 90, of Pinckneyville, passed away in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital on Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 3:34 p.m.
	Michael was born on May 26, 1912 in DuQuoin, the son of Henry G.  and Gertrude Kelly Smith.  He married Audrey Bigham on May 23, 1936 and she survives.  Michael worked as a coal miner for the United Electric Coal  Co. near DuQuoin and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local #5134.  He was also a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Pinckneyville, the Pinckneyville Mitchell Lodge #85 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Consistory of Belleville 32nd Degree and a member of the Eastern Star.  Michael was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
	Survivors include his wife Audrey of Pinckneyville; three sons, Jack L. Smith and wife Jean of Sparta, Richard P. Smith and wife Judy of Lakewood, Wash. and Michael C. Smith and wife Janelle of McDonough, Ga.; a brother, Percy Smith of DuQuoin; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
	Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 12 at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tom Hobson officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 11 from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until services.
	Memorials may be made to the Mary Carpenter Kuykendall Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society.
	A Masonic Service was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
